Senior Specialist - Database Geology - PNG Expat | 4 Weeks on, 4 Weeks off

K92 Mining Limited are the owners the high-grade Kainantu Gold Mine in Eastern Highlands Province. Since commencing operations in 2016, we have delivered consistent production growth. More importantly, we have contributed significantly to the economy of Papua New Guinea, more than 90% of our employees and contractors are from PNG and our local education and skills development initiatives which include scholarships, traineeships and adult literacy programs continue to bring significant benefit the communities in which we operate.

We are now transforming the operation with a new 1.2 mtpa process plant as well as extensive construction and expansion across site that will see us triple the output from our mine by 2027. About the role

Reporting to the Geology Manager, you will be tasked with the validation of weekly field data from our exploration program and the subsequent creation of maps in various GIS software programs thus enabling our team to have clear, concise mapping for field use and reporting. You will be heavily involved in tabulating data and Maps for weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting. You will be a dedicated geologist with great people skills who wants to be part of a highly skilled and motivated exploration team as K92 continues its exploration success.

Key Accountabilities

Key accountabilities of this position include.





- Validation of weekly field data from the geologists
- Create maps and tables for the weekly and monthly reports
- Create presentation quality maps for reporting and presentation
- Train geologists on how to enter and validate data
- Review and validate historical data including updating geological interpretations
- Create three dimensional geological and mineralisation wireframes and models, with regular reviews and updates of these as new data is obtained
- Conduct specialist data and technical reviews in conjunction with other senior geologists
- Participate in target reviews and ranking as well as planning appropriate exploration programs for high priority target areas

About You

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you are tertiary qualified in Geology or similar with 10+ years' experience in gold and porphyry gold/copper exploration, you will have strong people skills and work in a collaborative manner. In addition, you must have all or some of the following:

- Experienced in exploration mapping software and creating high quality maps
- Good knowledge and working application of industry software and database platforms such as SQL and Access.
- Experience in multiple stage data validation
- Experience in weekly, monthly and quarterly etc report compilation




- A sound understanding of data integrity and collection standards
- Experience creating and updating three dimensional geological and mineralization wire frames and models or interpretations
- A basic understanding of resource modelling techniques and processes
- Experience in validating and interpretating historical data
- Ability to work in a role with multiple priorities and achieve deadlines
- Strong aptitude and attitude for learning recent skills
