Business Development Manager - Independents

Are you a commercially minded sales professional with experience in the building products, construction, or hardware sectors?

We are seeking a driven Business Development Manager to take ownership of a Queensland territory, managing a portfolio of established customers while identifying and securing new growth opportunities across the independent, commercial, and trade markets.

This is a highly visible role where you will act as a trusted business partner, helping customers grow their businesses while delivering outstanding commercial outcomes.

About the Role

Reporting into the Sales Leadership team, you will be responsible for managing and growing relationships with customers ranging from independent operators and trade businesses through to large commercial and construction organisations.

Key responsibilities include:

- Managing and growing a portfolio of existing accounts
- Increasing market share, revenue, and profitability within existing customers
- Identifying and converting new business opportunities across Queensland
- Developing and executing strategic account plans
- Building strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders
- Providing product, industry, and commercial insights that add value to customers' businesses
- Conducting regular customer visits, reviews, and business planning sessions
- Partnering with internal teams to deliver exceptional customer outcomes
- Maintaining a healthy sales pipeline and delivering against revenue and profitability targets
- Using CRM systems to effectively manage customer activity and opportunities
- Managing a large geographic territory, including regional travel

What We're Looking For

To be successful, you will have:

- Proven success in Business Development,



Account Management, or Sales
- Experience within building products, construction, industrial manufacturing, prefab, modular construction, steel, sheds, roofing, windows, doors, or related industries
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify growth opportunities
- Experience working with trade, commercial, or contractor-based customers
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
- A consultative sales approach with strong influencing and negotiation capability
- High levels of initiative, resilience, and self-motivation
- Strong planning, pipeline management, and territory management skills
- Experience using CRM systems and sales reporting tools
- The ability and willingness to travel throughout Queensland

Highly Regarded

- Experience within the prefab, modular building, shed, or steel building sectors
- Exposure to both current business development and strategic account management
- A stable employment history demonstrating commitment and long-term success
