Are you an experienced field leader who enjoys working in remote landscapes, leading smallteamsand delivering practical conservation outcomes?
As the second-in-charge of the Clermont Work Unit, you will support the Ranger in Charge to plan, coordinate and deliver annual work programs across national parks, conservation parks and State forests in the Clermont-Belyando region, including Epping Forest National Park (Scientific), home of the northern hairy-nosed wombat.
This is a diverse, hands-on role combining leadership, fieldoperationsand project delivery. You will contribute to fire, pest, visitor and asset management, threatened species conservation, compliance activities, and the maintenance of infrastructure and equipment. You will also work closely with Traditional Owners, neighbouring landholders, contractors, volunteersand government agencies.
No two days are the same. You may be supervising staff,
planningprojectsand managing resources, or undertaking field-based work such as patrols, fireoperationsand emergency response.
Working in semi-remote and remote locations requires adaptability, soundjudgementand the ability to think on your feet. The role involves regular travel, camping, physically demandingworkand periods of working alone in isolated locations.
