We're partnering with a large Australian organisation looking for an Environment & Release Specialist to take ownership of its non-production environment landscape and support the smooth delivery of technology change across the business.
This is a hands-on coordination role sitting across environments, releases, testing and technology delivery. You'll be the person making sure environments are available, aligned and ready when project and testing teams need them.
You don't need to be an infrastructure engineer or have spent years managing large teams. We're looking for someone who understands how DEV, SIT, UAT and production environments work together, enjoys solving problems and is comfortable taking ownership.
Environment & Release Coordinator
Melbourne | Permanent | Hybrid
What you’ll be doing
- Own and maintain the environment calendar across development, SIT, UAT and other non-production environments.
- Coordinate setting availability across multiple projects, releases and testing activities.
- Maintain setting registers, maps, schedules and documentation.
- Coordinate environment refreshes, copies, maintenance and test data requirements.
- Ensure environments are ready for SIT, UAT, regression testing and cutover activities.
- Understand and track dependencies between applications, integrations and environments.
- Support release planning, deployments, change activities and production releases.
- Identify environment clashes, risks and blockers before they impact delivery.
- Troubleshoot environment issues and work with application, infrastructure,
integration and vendor teams to get them resolved.
- Coordinate release run sheets, readiness activities and Go/No-Go requirements.
- Help establish and improve environment management processes where they don't currently exist.
What we’re looking for
You may currently be working as an Environment Coordinator, Release Analyst, Test Analyst, Application Support Analyst, Technical Analyst or Release Specialist.
More important than your title is your experience.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- Experience supporting or coordinating DEV, SIT, UAT and production environments.
- Exposure to environment refreshes, deployments, releases and testing.
- An understanding of application and integration dependencies.
- Experience supporting SIT/UAT and resolving environment-related blockers.
- Exposure to release and change management processes.
- Strong documentation and planning skills.
- Enough technical understanding to confidently work with developers, testers, infrastructure teams and vendors.
- A proactive approach and willingness to chase down information and take ownership through to resolution.
- Robust stakeholder skills and the ability to build relationships across both technical and business teams.
This could be a great next step for someone with a few years of experience across environments, testing, release or application support who wants to take greater ownership of an environment and release function.
If this sounds like you, or you've been working around environments for a few years and are ready for your next step, I'd love to hear from you.
