To carry out the installation, modification and commissioning of fire detection and emergency warning and intercommunication (EWIS) systems on commercial and industrial construction projects, to the required standards and to program.
Key responsibilities
Install, modify and commission fire detection and EWIS equipment on commercial and industrial construction sites
Carry out associated electrical work including cabling, terminations, containment and equipment mounting, where appropriately licensed
Read and work from drawings, specifications and cause and effect matrices
Program, test and fault find fire panels and field devices
Assist with commissioning, witness testing and handover documentation
Operate elevated work platforms and work at heights in accordance with your licensing and training
Complete daily site paperwork and job notes
Liaise with site supervisors, head contractors and other trades
Work in accordance with Protected QLD safety systems, SWMS and site requirements
Maintain the company vehicle, tools and stock issued to you
About you
Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licence
QBCC licence for fire detection and alarm systems
Construction Industry Induction Card (white card)
Demonstrated experience working on commercial or industrial construction sites
Own hand tools, with major appliance tools supplied by Safe QLD
Ability to work safely and unsupervised, and to communicate clearly on site
Queensland electrical licence, held and maintained current (highly regarded)
Current LV Rescue and CPR certification, required where an electrical licence is held (highly regarded)
Fire panel programming experience, particularly Ampac, Notifier or Vigilant equipment (highly regarded)

40 hours per week, worked between 6:00am and 6:00pm Monday to Friday
