We are seeking a hands-on Cashflow Analyst to support critical weekly cashflow reporting, treasury activities and broader financial analysis for an initial six-month contract.
This role requires someone who can confidently work through complex financial information, understand and improve existing Excel models, and deliver highly accurate reporting within recurring weekly deadlines. Previous treasury experience is advantageous but not essential. Your understanding of cashflow, advanced Excel capability and exceptional attention to detail will be critical.
The opportunity
Working closely with the Treasury & Insurance Manager and Head of FP&A;, you will play an important role in maintaining the organisation’s weekly cashflow reporting and supporting upcoming covenant and treasury requirements. You will also review existing models and manual processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop clear documentation to support a smooth handover. For the right person, there may be an opportunity for the contract to be extended or for the position to become permanent.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain weekly internal cashflow reporting.
- Support the preparation and delivery of weekly shareholder cashflow reports.
- Analyse short-term cash movements, funding requirements and forecast variances.
- Review and improve existing cashflow models, reporting processes and Excel workbooks.
- Consolidate and reconcile financial information from multiple data sources.
- Investigate discrepancies and ensure the accuracy and completeness of reporting.
- Maintain banking facility, covenant and related treasury records.
- Assist with covenant and lender reporting requirements.
- Support payments, funding requests and cash transfers.
- Document existing reporting processes,
controls and methodologies.
- Identify practical opportunities to simplify, standardise or automate manual finance processes.
- Prepare clear process, procedure and handover documentation.
- Assist with ad hoc treasury, insurance and financial analysis activities.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Experience in cashflow analysis, forecasting and reporting.
- Advanced Excel skills, including confidence working with financial models, formulas and large datasets.
- The ability to understand an existing financial model, follow its logic and identify errors or opportunities for improvement.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
- Well-developed reconciliation, analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with multiple data sources and manual reporting processes.
Highly regarded
The following experience would be advantageous but is not essential:
- Previous treasury or cash-management experience.
- Exposure to banking facilities, covenant reporting or funding arrangements.
- Experience improving or automating Excel-based finance processes.
- Experience preparing reports for shareholders, lenders or senior stakeholders.
Contract details and work rights
This is an initial six-month, full time contract, with an early commencement preferred to support an effective handover and upcoming cashflow, covenant and treasury reporting requirements. Applicants must currently hold unrestricted Australian working rights that allow them to work in a full-time role for the entire contract period. There is potential for the contract to be extended or for the successful candidate to be offered a permanent position; however, this will depend on business requirements and individual performance.
