We're looking for a proactive Senior Operations Supervisor to lead our Mareeba depot team Monday to Friday. You'll oversee daily transport and dock operations, ensuring freight is handled safely, efficiently and compliantly. This hands-on leadership role involves managing drivers and operational staff while maintaining high standards of safety and performance in a fast-paced transport workplace.

What You’ll Do

- Lead and supervise drivers, forklift operators and dock staff.
- Oversee safe and efficient loading, unloading and freight movements.
- Conduct driver, forklift and other competency assessments.
- Manage performance, behaviour and operational issues effectively.
- Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility, WHS and company procedures.
- Lead and support daily operations to meet service and delivery requirements.
- Coach and support team members and identify training needs.
- Lead by example and remain hands-on in the operation.

What You Bring

- Industry knowledge - Transport or relevant industry experience will be highly regarded for this role.
- Warehousing Knowledge & Experience - Strong understanding of fast-moving transport site operations,



including transhipping requirements for efficient workflow.
- Proven Leadership Experience - Ability to lead, mentor, and support a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
- Decision-Making & Problem-Solving - Confidence to make quick, effective decisions under pressure.
- Team Development & Support - Strong ability to motivate, train, and manage performance.
- Communication & Collaboration - Work closely with drivers, allocators, key stakeholders & customers to ensure seamless operations.
- Industry Knowledge Essential - preferred knowledge of refrigerated transport industry.
- BFM Accreditation or Willingness to Obtain - Understanding of NHVR regulations and safety compliance is an advantage.
