Project Design Manager – High-Density Residential & Mixed-Use

A leading and fast-growing property development group is seeking an experienced Project Design Manager to oversee the design lifecycle of major mixed-use and high-density residential projects. With a robust pipeline exceeding $5 billion, this is a key leadership role with impact from planning through to project delivery.

Reporting to the senior development team, you’ll coordinate external consultants and guide design outcomes that align with project timelines, budgets, and innovation goals. Your role will bridge architecture, engineering, and construction teams to ensure quality and buildability from early approvals through to construction completion.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and coordinate design from concept through delivery
- Manage external consultants and multidisciplinary design inputs
- Ensure alignment to program, cost, and quality outcomes
- Provide expert input across architecture, structure, and services
- Focus on value engineering, compliance, and design optimisation
- Oversee documentation standards and document control processes

What You’ll Bring:

- Tertiary qualifications in architecture, construction, or engineering
- 10+ years’ experience in design or delivery of high-density residential projects
- Strong technical understanding of Australian Standards and NCC
- Expertise in managing design documentation and multidisciplinary coordination
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder skills
- High attention to detail with a collaborative, solutions-driven mindset
