Specialising in providing end-to-end payment solutions for the travel industry, Mint enables customers to collect and send funds via a unified platform, offering services such as card acquiring, real-time bank transfers, virtual cards, and fraud mitigation solutions.

Join Mint and be part of a high-growth organisation that thrives on innovation and agility, where you’ll contribute to our leadership as a market-leading travel-focused fintech across Australia and New Zealand. You’ll help drive our international vision as we expand into the United Kingdom and new markets, all while collaborating within a collegiate, team-oriented culture that values genuine connections and mutual support. In this dynamic and personable environment, your ideas will be heard, your achievements celebrated, and your career path defined by real opportunity.

The Role

We are seeking a creative and customer-obsessed User Experience (UX) Designer to take a pivotal role in shaping our core product. This position is focused on designing the next generation of our unified payment experience platform, which seamlessly integrates both fund collections (pay-ins) and payouts (pay-outs) for our business customers.

This is a hands‑on role for a designer who can translate complex financial workflows into intuitive, simple, and elegant user interfaces. You will advocate for the user at every step, transforming user research and business requirements into compelling design solutions. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver a world‑class,

cohesive user experience that empowers our clients and solidifies our market leadership.

Key Responsibilities

User‑Centred Design & Prototyping

- Design and deliver wireframes, user journeys, process flows, and high‑fidelity mockups for our unified payments platform.
- Create interactive prototypes to test, validate, and iterate on design concepts with internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Ensure all designs are intuitive, accessible (WCAG compliant), and solve real user problems.

Research & User Advocacy

- Conduct and facilitate user research, including interviews, usability testing, and surveys, to deeply understand the needs and pain points of our travel merchants.
- Analyse and map complex B2B workflows (e.g., payment processing, reconciliation, supplier payouts) to identify key opportunities for simplification and improvement.
- Synthesise research findings into actionable insights, user personas, and design recommendations to guide product strategy.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers to define user requirements and translate business goals into effective design solutions.
- Work side‑by‑side with Engineers to ensure pixel‑perfect implementation, providing clear design specifications, assets, and support.
- Actively participate in agile ceremonies, effectively communicating design rationale and incorporating feedback.

Design System & Consistency

- Contribute to the development and maintenance of our internal Design System to ensure a consistent, scalable, and efficient design language.
- Act as a brand steward, ensuring the user experience is consistent with Mint's brand identity across all touchpoints.

What we’re looking for

- 5+ years of experience in User Experience (UX) Design, Product Design, or a similar role, ideally within a B2B, SaaS, or FinTech environment.
- A robust portfolio that clearly demonstrates your design process, problem‑solving skills, and high‑quality UI/UX work on complex applications.
- Demonstrable experience in designing for complex workflows, dashboards, or platforms. Experience with payments or financial services is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
- Expertise in user‑centred design methodologies, including user research, usability testing, and journey mapping.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate and defend your design decisions to diverse audiences.
- A highly collaborative, proactive, and detail‑oriented mindset.

Why Join Mint?

- Competitive Package: Market‑competitive compensation and professional development opportunities that recognise your contributions.
- Employee Focused: Generous additional leave benefits and industry‑leading Parental Leave policy.
- Collaborative Hands‑On Culture: An environment where diverse perspectives are valued, cross‑functional teamwork in a dynamic work environment is the norm, and every voice has impact.
- Supportive Leadership: Learn from experienced leaders who prioritise open communication, clear goals, and ongoing feedback to help you succeed.
- Purpose‑Driven Mission: Contribute to a travel‑focused fintech dedicated to solving real‑world problems – helping businesses operate more smoothly, securely, and efficiently.

Mint is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity.
