Permanent, Full-time Position | Commencing Monday 18 January 2027
This position is employed as a permanent teaching staff member, with the Dean of Learning role as a position of added responsibility, on a 2-year contract.
About the Position
The role of the Dean of Learning 8-9 is to purposefully lead and enable a Christ-centred community of learners in Years 8 and 9, with leadership responsibility for the quality assurance of curriculum documentation and assessment, the equipping of teaching teams to plan and assess effectively, and the coordination of numeracy practice across Years 6-9.
The Dean of Learning 8-9 will work alongside the Dean of Learning 6-7 and under the direction of the Deputy Head of Middle School - Learning to ensure a coordinated, consistent approach to teaching for learning across the Middle School and will support a smooth academic transition for Year 9 students into Senior School pathways.
This role will work closely with Middle School and teaching teams to facilitate opportunities and initiatives so that all students experience a research-based, effective and distinctly Christian culture of learning that prepares them for success in all areas of life.
About the Ideal Candidate
- Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers, including compliance with CPD hours.
- Knowledge of curriculum, pedagogy, assessment design, moderation and Middle Years learning.
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum planning, assessment development and quality assurance processes,
ideally within a Middle Years context.
