This is an opportunity for an experienced Automation Engineer to step into a hands‑on, client‑facing role delivering process automation solutions across manufacturing environments.
You’ll be involved across the full project lifecycle - from development through to commissioning - with the autonomy to run your own workstreams and contribute to project success on‑site.
Projects are wide-ranging in size and complexity, ranging from short continuous improvement upgrades through to larger commissioning phases requiring extended site presence.
Location: South east Melbourne
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop PLC and SCADA systems within FMCG manufacturing environments.
- Deliver end‑to‑end project work including testing, commissioning and optimisation.
- Work across multiple technologies and automation platforms.
- Attend client sites for commissioning (typically 1 week to 1 month depending on project size).
- Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders during project delivery.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and smaller upgrade projects.
The Ideal Candidate
- 3-5 years’ experience in industrial/process automation.
- Strong PLC experience (Rockwell/Allen Bradley and Siemens preferred).
- Exposure to SCADA platforms such as FactoryTalk, Ignition, AVEVA or Citect.
- Proven track record in end‑to‑end project delivery.
- Experience within FMCG, food & beverage or similar manufacturing industries.
- Understanding of batch control and MES systems (S88/S95 highly regarded).
- Basic database/SQL knowledge.
- Comfortable working on‑site and travelling when required.
