We are looking for an experienced Fibre Optic Splicer to join our growing telecommunications team on the Gold Coast.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for fibre optic installation, splicing, testing and fault finding across a range of telecommunications projects throughout the Gold Coast and surrounding areas.

- Fibre optic splicing and jointing
- Fibre testing using OTDR and power meter
- Fibre fault finding and rectification
- Working in pits, conduits, cabinets and telecommunications infrastructure
- Reading fibre plans and network diagrams
- Completing job documentation and test results
- Working safely and maintaining a high standard of workmanship
- Liaising with supervisors, clients and other field crews

What We’re Looking For

- Previous experience as a Fibre Splicer / Fibre Technician




- Strong knowledge of fibre optic networks
- Experience with fusion splicing
- Competent with OTDR and fibre testing equipment
- Current driver’s licence
- Robust attention to detail
- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills

- Experience with FTTP, FTTN, HFC or carrier networks
- NBN experience
- Relevant telecommunications qualifications
- Traffic control / working-at-heights tickets
- Experience with FJL,BJL, multiports, and fibre distribution equipment
