Investment Banking Senior Associate

A leading global advisory firm is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Associate to its Natural Resources investment banking team in Sydney.

With a strong global platform and a deep local presence, the team provides clients with independent advice across strategic M&A;, capital raisings, and restructuring mandates.

Role Overview

You’ll be a key member of the Natural Resources team, working directly with senior bankers and clients on large‑scale, often cross‑border transactions. The position offers substantial responsibility, high visibility with clients, and the prospect to build deep sector expertise.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead day‑to‑day transaction execution, including valuation, modelling, due diligence, and process management
- Serve as a primary client contact on select mandates




- Prepare and review high‑quality materials for pitches, boards, and investors
- Support senior leadership on origination and business development initiatives
- Mentor and guide junior team members
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across global offices to deliver seamless execution

Candidate Profile

- Exceptional academic background and strong financial acumen
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- 5–10 years’ experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or consulting (ideally with exposure to the Natural Resources sector)
- Proven transaction management experience across M&A; or capital markets
- Post‑graduate qualifications (CFA, CA, MBA, or equivalent) are advantageous
