We are currently partnering with a leading construction business to recruit anAccountant to join their Sydney-based finance team.
This is a great opportunity for an Accountant looking to take the next step in their career, working closely with the Finance Manager and gaining exposure across month-end, reconciliations, reporting and broader financial operations.
The Role:
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing, reconciliation and reporting of financial information.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Completing daily bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
- Assisting with month-end processes, including accruals, prepayments and general ledger reconciliations
- Reconciling overhead and balance sheet accounts and providing commentary on key movements and variances
- Working closely with the Accounts Payable team to ensure accurate invoice coding and allocation
- Preparing monthly BAS workpapers
- Assisting with monthly management reporting and financial forecasting
- Managing and reconciling retention trust accounts
- Assisting with bank guarantee and bond administration
- Preparing ad hoc financial reports, reconciliations and analysis
- Supporting continuous improvement across finance processes and reporting
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- 3+ years' experience in an Accountant or similar role
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with financial reporting systems
- Excellent attention to detail and strong reconciliation skills
- A proactive approach with the ability to work collaboratively across a finance team
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A genuine interest in developing your accounting career
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration; CPA qualification will also be considered
