Senior Payroll Specialist (Project Assignment)

Processing payroll, dealing with escalated issues, project work

An excellent opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to join a well-established organisation on a critical payroll project. This is a hands-on role requiring a payroll skilled who can provide technical expertise, hands-on processing, support the broader payroll function, and lead a team through a busy project period.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support a payroll team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.

Manage end-to-end payroll operations across a large employee base.

Interpret and apply Awards, Enterprise Agreements and relevant payroll legislation.

Review payroll reconciliations and ensure compliance requirements are met.

Resolve complex payroll queries and escalations.

Support payroll project initiatives, process improvements and system-related activities.





Collaborate with key stakeholders across HR, Finance and Operations.

About You

Proven experience in a Senior Payroll Specialist, Payroll Team Leader or Payroll Manager position.

Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to mentor and support a payroll team.

Strong understanding of payroll legislation, Awards and Enterprise Agreements.

Experience managing high-volume and complex payroll environments.

Excellent reconciliation, analytical and problem-solving skills.

PeopleSoft experience will be highly regarded.

Available to commence immediately or on short notice.
