The Company
Based on the fringe of Melbourne's CBD, our client is an iconic apparel and retail business. One of the world’s most recognisable brands, they are extremely well respected within their field.
The Role
Reporting to an experienced operations manager you will work in a highly analytical role that can directly influence the performance of the business. You will be responsible for translating data into clear insights that can support business planning as well as identifying opportunities to improve performance, efficiency and customer experience.
Your key tasks will include, but will not be restricted too:
- Produce regular reporting across performance metrics (e.g., sales, labour, productivity, conversion, customer experience)
- Analyse performance trends to identify risks, opportunities, and key drivers of results
- Translate data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders across the business
- Support forecasting and reforecasting processes using historical data and trend analysis
- Provide data inputs to support promotional activity, trading periods, and retail calendar execution
- Partner with key stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Marketing, Planning) to align reporting and insights
- Support data requirements across projects and business initiatives
- Maintain and support reporting tools, dashboards, and data sources
- Extract and compile data across systems (e.g. retail, eCommerce, operational platforms)
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting outputs
- Support process improvements to simplify reporting, improve efficiency, and reduce manual work
- Assist with implementation and adoption of new reporting tools or system enhancements
The Candidate
With a relevant business degree, you will be a well credentialed data / business analyst with previous experience in the retail sector. You may have previously worked within a finance function or may have worked closely with operations. Ideally you will have a strong understanding of key retail metrics ( ie sales, conversion, productivity, labour). With a highly analytical mindset, you will have the ability to interpret and simplify data, and utilise it to make valuable business decisions. You will have curious and proactive mindset, with interest in identifying trends and opportunities. You will have robust systems and Excel skills, and ideally will have had experience working with reporting or visualisation tools (e.g. Data Studio or similar). You will have first class communication and interpersonal skills and will be capable of building strong working relationships across the business.
