As a Service Crew Operator, you will play a critical role in supporting underground production activities, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of essential mine services and infrastructure.

You will be responsible for carrying out a variety of underground service tasks that support the safe and productive operation of the mine.

About the Role

Perilya Broken Hill is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Service Crew Operator to join our underground mining operations. This is an exciting chance to become part of an experienced mining team at one of Australia's iconic base metal mining operations.

As a Service Crew Operator, you will play a critical role in supporting underground production activities, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of essential mine services and infrastructure.

You will be responsible for carrying out a variety of underground service tasks that support the safe and productive operation of the mine.

Key Responsibilities

- Installation and maintenance of underground services including ventilation, water, air, and dewatering systems
- Installation of mine infrastructure such as pipes, pumps, sumps, and services reticulation
- Concrete spraying, grouting, and shotcreting activities as required




- Assisting with ground support installation and rehabilitation works
- Operation of underground service and utility equipment
- Carrying out underground inspections and reporting maintenance requirements
- Working safely and complying with all site safety standards, procedures, and environmental requirements
- Contributing to a positive team culture focused on continuous improvement

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

Essential Requirements

- Previous underground mining experience
- Experience working in a Service Crew or similar underground mining role
- Current Manual Driver's Licence
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work rotating rosters and underground environments

Highly Regarded

- HR Driver's Licence
- Underground equipment operating experience
- Working at Heights certification
- Confined Space certification
- First Aid qualification
- Shotcrete or paste fill experience
- Poly welding experience
- Pump and pipe installation experience
