We are currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Case Worker to join our Foundations Care SW Qld team with the provision of support to our Foster & Kinship Carers in making a significant difference by providing placements in the lives of our Young People who have experienced risk and vulnerability.
You will be primarily responsible for the recruiting, assessing, and the support of foster carers and applicants, with the focus on providing care and support that meet legislative requirements and ultimately achieve reunification and long-term stability for children in care to achieve their goals. This includes participating in assessment processes and ensuring that carers and home environments are authorised and approved and continually supported.
You will be committed to working collaboratively with all stakeholders and ensuring that the safety, welfare, and wellbeing of our Young People is paramount. You will actively support the implementation of care planning and placement agreements by providing direct support to the child or young person and their families and/or carers.
You will have the opportunity to work with an experienced team and be provided with excellent professional development to support your understanding of child development, effects of trauma and positive behaviour support.
This is a fulltime position for an initial 6-month contract with the potential to move to a permanent role, it will be based from our Ipswich office,with travel required in the surrounding region to support our clients.
About you:
To be successful in this role you must have the following:
Understanding of/and direct experience in the child protection or similar industry, including knowledge of the Standards of Care.
Knowledge of complex trauma, neglect and other factors related to why children and young people are placed in out of home care.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including report writing.
Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and support solutions for carers, children and stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience in developing and building a positive rapport with community members and young people.
Experience in working with indigenous communities and culturally diverse people and communities is desirable
Desirably have completed a tertiary Qualification and/or Diploma in related fields of Human Services, community development and/or relevant experience
