WhiteLight AML is rapidly expanding its AML Operations division as demand for outsourced AML/CTF services continues to grow across Australia.
We partner with accounting firms, legal practices, property groups, wealth managers and financial services organisations to support customer due diligence, onboarding, remediation and ongoing AML operations.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking experienced AML Analysts to join our Sydney team, with a strong focus on complex entity onboarding, customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence.
This role is particularly suited to someone with hands-on experience reviewing companies, trusts, SMSFs, partnerships, beneficial ownership structures and higher-risk customer profiles.
Position Purpose:
The AML Analyst is responsible for delivering end-to-end AML operational support across individual and complex entity onboarding, customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence and remediation activities.
A key focus of this role will be reviewing and assessing legal entity structures, including companies, discretionary trusts, unit trusts, SMSFs, partnerships and other complex ownership or control arrangements.
The role requires solid technical CDD capability, sound judgement, attention to detail and the ability to identify, document and escape AML/CTF risks appropriately.
You will work closely with Compliance Officers, Senior AML Specialists and client stakeholders to ensure customer onboarding and due diligence activities are completed to a high standard and in line with AML/CTF obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Customer Due Diligence across individual and entity customers
- Review and assess companies, trusts, SMSFs, partnerships and other legal structures
- Identify and verify beneficial owners, controlling persons, trustees, directors, shareholders, members and other relevant parties
- Analyse ownership and control structures to determine who needs to be identified and verified
- Review trust deeds, company extracts, ASIC records, corporate registries and onboarding documentation
- Conduct Enhanced Due Diligence on higher-risk customers, complex structures and unusual onboarding matters
- Review source of funds and source of wealth information and supporting documentation where required
- Complete PEP, sanctions and adverse media screening reviews
- Assess customer risk factors, including customer type, structure, jurisdiction, source of funds, source of wealth and nature of activity
- Support AML remediation and customer uplift projects across existing customer populations
- Manage ongoing due diligence and periodic review activities
- Identify gaps, inconsistencies or red flags in customer documentation and escalates concerns appropriately
- Conduct investigations into unusual matters and support escalation of potential AML/CTF risks
