Your Role

Our client, a large Queensland Government organisation, is seeking an experienced Principal Security Consultant to lead security design, implementation, and governance across a complex SAP S/4HANA environment.

Your primary purpose is to ensure enterprise applications are securely configured, compliant with industry and organisational standards, and supported by robust authorisation frameworks, security controls, and policies.

You will take a leadership role in solving complex SAP security challenges, guiding senior consultants, and providing expert advice on access governance, role design, and segregation of duties.

You will collaborate with architects, developers, testers, and business stakeholders to maintain the integrity of the integrated SAP solution and support both project and BAU security requirements.

Core outcomes of your engagement will include secure role design, remediation of SoD conflicts, implementation of security controls, audit and compliance support, and delivery of high‑quality documentation aligned to enterprise standards.

Key responsibilities and tasks will include:

- Lead the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of SAP S/4HANA security authorisations
- Analyse and resolve complex application security issues
- Define and implement security controls, policies, and procedures
- Provide expert guidance on role design, SoD conflict remediation, and access governance
- Support audit, compliance, and security incident investigations




- Prepare high‑quality documentation including design specifications and testing artefacts
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to maintain the integrity of the SAP solution
- Mentor and support senior security consultants
- Contribute to knowledge transfer and capability uplift
- Work onsite in Brisbane CBD, with occasional after‑hours work for project milestones

Skills & Experience

- Extensive experience in SAP S/4HANA security design, build, and maintenance
- Robust knowledge of SAP BTP security (CIS, IAS, IPS)
- Experience with SAP GRC Access Control
- Proven ability to provide expert technical advice and resolve complex issues
- Strong background in developing security specifications and documentation
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high‑quality outcomes
- Excellent written communication skills

Desirable

- Experience in large enterprise or government environments
- Knowledge of workforce, payroll, HR, finance, or logistics systems
- Understanding of integration concepts, APIs, middleware, and data flows
- Applied understanding of security standards and compliance frameworks
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT, Cyber Security, or related fields
- SAP or security certifications (SAP Security, SAP GRC, CISSP, CISM)
