- We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Speech Pathologist to join our team
- Part time, 22.8hrs per week (.6EFT) - 20 hrs permanent and 2.8 hrs fixed term

About the Speech Pathology Department:
We have over 30 speech pathologists working across all three sites of Austin Health, in acute care, sub-acute care, rehabilitation, bed substitution and community programs. We function as one department and work in clinical teams in a supportive, friendly setting. Our work includes clinical services, research, quality and improvement,staffand student education.
About the role
Thispositionisbased within our Continuing Care work stream and will work as part of the Continuing Care team under the guidance of the Grade 4 Continuing Care stream leaders.In the course ofa day, you may find yourself:
- Undertaking a swallowing assessment
- Providing therapy as part of a goal driven rehabilitation program
- Mentoring/supervising Grade2Speech Pathologists or Allied Health Assistants
Our Grade 3 positions are situatedwithin eitherBetter@Homeservice, In-patient Aged careand Memory clinicserviceorNeurologicalandAcquired Brain Injuryrehabilitation services.
About You
To be successful in this roleyou’llbring with you:
- Approved degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent and eligible for certified practising membership of Speech Pathology Australia
- Experience in the assessment and management of patients with a wide range of neurological and medical diagnoses
- Ability to supervise students and mentor others to develop capability in this area
- Ability to support and develop workforce alongside the Grade 4 Speech Pathologists
- Experience in quality and service improvement
- Demonstrated initiative and openness to communicate and discuss ongoing clinical issues and decisions with other department members
