This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practical traffic management, compliance, permit assessment or civil infrastructure experience who enjoys a busy, diverse role and applying established processes to achieve practical outcomes.

Working as part of a small Corridor Management team, you will assess applications and requests relating to works within the Council road reserve. This is a busy, office-based role involving regular interaction with contractors, service providers, applicants, Council teams and members of the public.

- Potential for extension

About the role:

- Assessing Temporary Traffic Management applications for third-party works and events within the road reserve
- Assessing applications for private infrastructure, including private water lines and residential driveway and stormwater infrastructure
- Assessing Traffic Management Plans and Traffic Guidance Schemes
- Assessing applications for the movement of heavy and over-dimensional vehicles on Council-controlled roads
- Providing technical advice regarding traffic management, routes, legislation, permits and road corridor requirements
- Reviewing turning templates and considering wide load interactions with Council infrastructure

- Liaising with utility providers, contractors, consultants, applicants and other stakeholders
- Investigating and responding to non-compliant activities within the road reserve and escalating matters where required
- Responding to customer service requests and providing clear verbal and written information
- Supporting the Coordinator Corridor Management with larger projects impacting Council road reserves
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation relating to applications, permits and compliance matters

About you:

- Practical experience in traffic management, particularly Traffic Management Implementation or Traffic Management Design
- Experience assessing applications, permits, traffic management plans or similar technical documentation
- An understanding of road corridor activities, temporary traffic management and relevant legislation and requirements
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow established processes and procedures
- The ability to assess information, exercise sound judgement and make recommendations
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including confidence dealing with members of the public and external service providers
