Cranbourne South General Store is seeking a Barista / Kitchen Hand to join our hospitality team on a casual basis. This is a versatile role perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. Based in Cranbourne South, VIC 3977, you will work across both our café and kitchen operations, delivering excellent service and quality food preparation to our valued customers. This position offers flexibility and the opportunity to develop skills in multiple areas of hospitality.
What you'll be doing
Preparing and serving high-quality coffee and beverages with attention to detail and consistency
Taking customer orders and providing friendly, efficient service at the counter
Preparing food items in the kitchen, including sandwiches, salads, and other menu items according to recipes and food safety standards
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation in both the café and kitchen areas
Following all health and safety regulations and food handling procedures
Collaborating with team members to ensure smooth daily operations during service periods
Shift times vary with some starting at 5:00am
What we're looking for
Previous experience in a café, kitchen, or hospitality workplace is highly desirable
Barista certification or equivalent training in coffee preparation is preferred
A genuine passion for customer service and creating positive interactions
Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment whilst maintaining quality standards
Basic food safety knowledge and commitment to maintaining hygiene standards
Solid communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor
Flexibility to work early hours, including potential weekend shifts
Willingness to learn and develop skills across both café and kitchen operations
Reliability and punctuality in attending scheduled shifts
