C PALA & H PALA IGA LOCAL GROCER SYLVANIA is seeking an experienced and reliable Retail Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of its supermarket at Shop 7, 264 Box Road, Sylvania NSW 2224. This is a genuine full-time position with ongoing work for the right candidate. The successful candidate will lead store operations, supervise employees, manage stock and suppliers, maintain excellent customer service and support the store’s sales and profitability objectives.

The salary for this role is $85,000 plus superannuation. Benefits Task & responsibilities Duties and responsibilities

- Manage daily supermarket operations, including opening and closing procedures, staffing, customer service, and store presentation.
- Supervise, train, roster, and support retail team members to maintain efficient and professional service.
- Monitor stock levels, product availability, deliveries, pricing, and shelf presentation across the store.
- Prepare staff rosters and allocate duties to ensure adequate staffing during peak trading hours.

- Ensure fresh products, grocery items, and general merchandise are correctly displayed, rotated, labelled, and maintained.
- Respond to customer enquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Monitor sales activity, store performance, waste, stock loss, and operating costs, and report to the business owners.
- Support local promotions, catalogue activity, and in-store merchandising to increase sales and customer engagement.
- Ensure compliance with food-safety,



workplace health and safety, consumer, security, cash-handling, and company procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and customer-friendly retail setting.

Qualification & experience Skills and experience required

- Relevant qualifications in retail management, business, customer service or a comparable field; alternatively substantial relevant retail-management experience.
- At least three years of relevant experience in a supermarket, grocery store, convenience store, or similar retail-management role.
- Demonstrated experience supervising staff, preparing rosters, managing store operations and delivering high standards of customer service.
- Experience with stock control, ordering, supplier coordination, pricing, merchandising and minimizing stock loss.
- Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible retail hours, including weekends and public holidays, where required.
- Experience with supermarket point-of-sale systems, cash handling, and retail reporting is highly regarded.
- Food-safety knowledge or certification is highly regarded.
