National building contractor with an enviable track record of delivering successful projects is looking to appoint an experienced Design Manager with a proven background across both site construction delivery and preconstruction / tendering.

This is a key role where you will oversee and influence the design process from bid stage through to project delivery, ensuring designs are practical, buildable, cost effective and aligned with client requirements.

Reporting to the Head of Design you will join an established team of Design Managers and work closely with both the pre-construction and delivery teams to achieve high quality design outcomes across a diverse project portfolio.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

Strategic and agile thinker who can add value throughout the design lifecycle, including pre- construction, tendering, early contractor involvement, and live projects.

Strong multidisciplinary knowledge across structural, services and finishes, with a focus on buildability, detailing, and value engineering

Practical and analytical approach, with strong critical - thinking skills across tendering, planning, value engineering, and innovative design solutions.

Demonstrated Design Management experience within a building contractor environment.

Excellent stakeholder management skills, both internally and externally,



with the ability to lead effective and productive client and design meetings

Ability to coordinate and align design requirements with construction programs and project budgets.

Comfortable reviewing workshop drawings, identifying key and high-risk items, and actively contributing on site when required.

KEY EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

Broad sector experience, particularly within new build commercial construction.

Relevant qualifications, ideally tertiary qualifications in Construction Management or Engineering

Previous site-based construction experience is highly desirable.

Solid time management, practical problem-solving ability, and transparent communication skills Proficiency with CAD, Bluebeam, MS Project, and BIM
