Expression of Interest - Patient Transport Officer/ ATA
About the role
We are currently taking Expressions of Interest for qualified Patient Transport Officers and Ambulance Transport Attendants for our branches in Ballarat, Geelong, West Melbourne and East Keilor.
Our PTOs and ATAs provide care and transport of non-emergency patients in accordance with the St John Ambulance Patient Transport Quality System. The PTOs & ATAs work effectively together using superior communication skills with the ability to manage extreme and complex situations with calmness and integrity.
The role works across a 24/7 roster, 365 days a year, including working across a variety of shift types, acuities, vehicle platforms and for various customer including Ambulance Victoria and a range of public and private hospitals.
Applicants will be added to our candidate pool and will be contacted when we are undertaking intakes throughout the year.
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Certificate III in Non-Emergency Patient Transport (PTO) or Minimum Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance) or equivalent, Registered Nurse Division 1 with appropriate Bridging Course
- Valid and full Australian Driver Licence and safe driving record
- Ability to consistently maintain confidentiality
- Able to work as part of a team or autonomously
- Ability to read, understand and follow detailed policies and procedures
