We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineerto join the team at Dinico Consulting Engineers. This is a full-time position based in Pyrmont, NSW 2009, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to significant structural engineering projects and play a key role in delivering innovative solutions for our clients. You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to design, analyse, and oversee the construction of structural systems that meet the highest standards of safety, sustainability, and quality.
What you'll be doing
- Design and analyse structural systems for buildings and infrastructure projects using industry-standard software and methodologies
- Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and documentation for construction phases
- Conduct feasibility studies and provide technical advice on structural solutions to meet project requirements
- Liaise with architects, engineers, and clients to understand project objectives and deliver integrated design solutions
- Perform structural calculations and modelling to ensure compliance with relevant building codes and Australian Standards
- Oversee construction activities and provide on-site technical support to ensure structural integrity during implementation
- Identify and mitigate structural risks and provide recommendations for improvement
- Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and scheduling to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
- Mentor and support junior engineering staff where applicable
- Stay current with industry developments, emerging technologies, and best practices in structural engineering
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering,
or a related discipline
- Must be Chartered and NSW Structural Design Practitioner accredited.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in structural design and analysis
- Proficiency with structural analysis and design software such as SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, or similar tools
- Strong knowledge of Australian Building Codes, AS 3600 (Concrete Structures), AS 4100 (Steel Structures), and relevant standards
- Excellent understanding of materials including concrete, steel, timber, and masonry
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- AutoCAD proficiency for drawing preparation and modification
- Experience with Building Information Modelling (BIM) is desirable
- Knowledge of sustainability principles and green building practices is advantageous
