Your recent organisation is an established structural steel construction company based in Melbourne's western suburbs, fabricating structural steelwork for construction projects across Victoria. With an experienced trade team and a strong reputation for quality workmanship, they're now looking to a Boilermaker to their busy workshop.

$44.00 – $48.00+ p/h (depending on skills and experience)
Casual — direct employment with the client from day one, genuine ongoing work
6:00am – 2:30pm, Monday to Friday schedule
Join an established, experienced trade team in a busy structural steel workshop
Hands-on fabrication role working with structural steel (mild steel)
What you'll be doing:
- MIG welding structural steel components to a high standard
- Marking out and setting out fabrications from drawings to tight tolerances
- Fitting and assembling beams, columns, cleats,
base plates and trusses — tacking up square and true before weld-out
- Reading and interpreting fabrication drawings, weld symbols and cutting lists
- Managing distortion control and weld sequencing on larger fabrications
- Working independently from shop drawings with minimal supervision
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe workshop
To be considered for this role:
- Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication Trade) or equivalent
- Ability to pass a practical weld test as part of the selection process
- Confident reading structural steel/fabrication drawings
- Physically capable of sustained hands‑on trade work
- Background in structural steel fabrication highly regarded
- Overhead crane, forklift, or dogging/rigging tickets highly regarded but not essential
