We are expanding our team and looking for a capable CNC Machinist to operate our new machines. You will work alongside our engineers and technicians to manufacture high precision parts, uphold our quality standards and meet fast moving production deadlines.
You will be a great fit if you have strong machining skills, a solid background in a workshop environment and a knack for hands on problem solving.
Key responsibilities
Program (including multi-axis) using Mastercam, and other CAD/CAM software
Interpret engineering drawings and CAD data
Machine operation by loading raw materials into the machine and calibrate cutting tools to ensure operations run smoothly
Produce parts for complex optical and mechanical systems
Inspect finish parts using precision measuring tools
Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot code errors or mechanical issues during the production cycle

Working closely with our Production Manager, engineers, and technicians, you will be a key part of a down-to-earth team that values accountability, seamless communication, and continuous improvement. Your strong machining fundamentals and practical approach to problem-solving will directly support our workshop workplace, ensuring we manufacture meticulous parts and maintain the highest quality standards across fast-moving development and production timelines.
Skills & experience
Qualified fitter and turner
Tool making ability
Capability to read and understand technical drawings in CAD
Manual and CNC machining experience - ie: Mills & Lathes
Program set and operate CNC machines
5-axis machining experience
CAD/CAM experience is a must
General knowledge of sheet metal and / or fabrication is highly regarded
Welding and fabrication experience is a bonus
Ownership and problem-solving mindset
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work under pressure
Must have a valid driver's license and forklift licence
Experience working to ISO9001 and AS9100D is a bonus
Australian citizenship is essential
