In the Principal Education Officer role, you will:
- lead teams of casual writers and assessors to support the development of curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment products and services;
- lead teams of casual writers and assessors to quality assure school‑devised assessments and school judgements and to develop and mark external assessments;
- work collaboratively with Principal Project Officers and Activity Managers to ensure alignment of products and services with whole of organisation directions, policies, and procedures;
- revise and redevelop curriculum products and resources including senior syllabuses and guidelines;
- lead the development of the annual subject report(s); provide timely and high‑quality client focused assistance and support to schools, teachers and other key stakeholders;
- provide expert advice to Learning Area Managers and Assistant Directors on issues related to the implementation of senior curriculum and assessment;
- manage and deliver business priorities within designated timelines and using allocated resources;
- liaise with government and non‑government educational agencies on assigned projects;
- create and maintain professional relationships between the QCAA and key stakeholders;
- lead forums, workshops and stakeholder engagement activities;
- prepare briefings, correspondence and reports.
This role requires teaching experience and expertise in the General Mathematics and Essential Mathematics syllabuses, with experience teaching Mathematical Methods syllabus an advantage.
Reporting relationships
This role reports to the Manager, Learning Areas (Mathematics). A number of casual positions will report to this position during various events throughout the year.
