OZ Excavator Buckets
Queensland
Graduate Mechanical Engineer | Heavy Machinery Attachment Design & Manufacturing
OZ Excavator Buckets is a Brisbane-based manufacturer and supplier of excavator buckets and earthmoving attachments.
Established in Brisbane in 1998, OZ has grown from a local workshop into a nationwide supplier while remaining family-owned and operated. In 2023, the business moved into its purpose-built facility in Oxley, expanding its manufacturing capability and supporting continued growth.
Our Oxley workshop covers fabrication, welding, hydraulic attachment fit-out, QA, painting, warehousing and dispatch. We are focused on practical solutions, reliable service, quality products and maintaining strong workshop standards.
About the Role
Take heavy machinery attachments from a blank screen to steel to a working machine on site. As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer you will design earthmoving equipment that gets built and used in the field, learning how it comes together both in house and overseas. This is a genuine pathway role: with the right development you will grow towards a senior engineering position, taking on more responsibility for day-to-day operations over time, as well as recent product development as we expand our range and move into new sectors.
We are an established and growing Australian manufacturer of earthmoving attachments.
Our engineering team is small enough that you will own real work from day one and structured enough that you will learn to do it properly: calculations, drawings and quality control done right. If you are passionate about manufacturing, this is the place for you.
Key Responsibilities
- 3D CAD design and drawing in Autodesk Inventor and Vault
- Engineering calculations to size components and stand up to tough field conditions
- Manage BOMs and product data from design through to our ERP
- Work on the workshop floor solving design and manufacturing problems as they come up
- Help bring new products from concept to release
What We're Looking For
The successful applicant will have:
- Completed or near-completed Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Solid fundamentals in mechanics, materials and machine design
- Some CAD experience (Inventor, SolidWorks or similar). We will build on it
- Practical and curious, happy to move between the office and the workshop floor
- Genuine interest in manufacturing and how things are made
What We Offer
- A clear pathway from graduate to independent design engineer
- Direct mentoring from experienced engineers, not a corporate rotation program
- Variety across the full product lifecycle, no two attachments the same
