Seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to prepare accurate estimates for major electrical construction projects, including containment, cabling, switchboards, power distribution, earthing, testing and commissioning. The role requires solid hands-on knowledge of electrical construction methodologies, labour productivity and project delivery to develop detailed cost plans and competitive tender submissions.

The business has built a strong reputation for its expertise in electrical installation, connection and commissioning, with a particular focus on data centres and large-scale power infrastructure

Description

- Prepare detailed estimates and tender submissions for electrical construction, infrastructure and high-voltage projects.
- Develop accurate labour build-ups for containment, cabling, switchboards, earthing, testing and commissioning works.
- Review drawings, specifications and project documentation to identify scope, risks and opportunities.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and pricing for cable tray, ladder, conduit, power distribution and electrical equipment installations.
- Develop practical construction methodologies, installation sequences and project execution strategies.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
- Collaborate with project managers,



engineers and operational teams during bid preparation and project handover.
- Monitor tender outcomes, analyse project performance against estimates and continually improve estimating accuracy and productivity assumptions.

Profile

A successful Senior Estimator should have:

- A results-driven approach to meet deadlines and project goals. Proven experience estimating complete electrical construction packages across industrial, infrastructure or major projects.
- Strong understanding of cable containment, cabling, switchboards, power distribution, earthing and commissioning works.
- Ability to build detailed labour allowances and construction methodologies from first principles.
- Experience pricing complex projects involving access constraints, shutdowns, live environments and multiple stakeholder interfaces.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify risks, scope gaps and value engineering opportunities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across delivery and bid teams.
- Trade or tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Trades or a related discipline are highly regarded.
