About the Role
As the VCE English Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering English across the secondary years, with a particular focus on Year 12 VCE English. You will support senior students through their final year of secondary education and help prepare them for VCAA assessment and examinations.
This position is ideally suited to an experienced VCE English teacher with a strong understanding of the VCAA curriculum,
assessment requirements and examination preparation. The school is seeking a strong classroom practitioner who can contribute to a culture of high expectations, professional collaboration and continuous improvement.
Full-time employment is preferred, however part-time arrangements of 0.8 FTE or above may be considered for the right candidate. The position may be offered on an ongoing or fixed-term basis depending on the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging English lessons across the secondary years, including Year 12 VCE English
- Deliver curriculum aligned with the VCAA Study Design and relevant assessment requirements
- Prepare and support Year 12 students for VCE assessments and examinations
- Create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic achievement, engagement and positive behaviour
- Provide timely and constructive assessment and feedback to support student progress
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan, evaluate and continuously improve teaching and learning practices
- Contribute positively to the wider Catholic school community and support student wellbeing
You will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in Education and English, or a related discipline
- Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration
- Full working rights in Australia
- Demonstrated experience teaching Year 12 VCE English
- Strong understanding of VCAA curriculum, assessment requirements and examination preparation
- Proven ability to support senior students to achieve strong academic outcomes
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- A collaborative, student-focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement
- A commitment to Catholic education and the values of inclusivity, integrity and service
