The Opportunity

Monash University's Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Clayton is seeking a skilled Research Fellow to take on a combined scientific and laboratory management role within a collaborative, discovery-driven research environment. This is a fixed-term, full-time opportunity for a researcher ready to contribute both at the bench and behind the scenes.

The Role

You will lead day-to-day laboratory operations while maintaining an active research contribution within the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology team. Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing laboratory workflows, equipment maintenance, consumables, and compliance with safety and ethics requirements
- Contributing to experimental design, data collection, and analysis in support of active research projects
- Supervising and supporting research students and staff in laboratory techniques and protocols
- Coordinating onboarding of new laboratory members and maintaining standard operating procedures

What You Bring

- A PhD in immunology, or a closely related discipline
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with immunology, molecular and cellular techniques, including flow cytometry
- Proven ability to manage a research laboratory setting, including WHS obligations
- Experience mentoring or supervising HDR students or research assistants
- Familiarity with grant reporting processes and research data management




- A track record of peer-reviewed publication commensurate with career stage
