About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, professional and dynamic accountant to join our team.
Duties and responsibilities will include:
- Managing a portfolio of business services clients, including SMEs and private groups
- Review and finalisation of income tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals
- Review of BAS, IAS, GST, and financial statements
- Providing proactive tax planning, structuring, and business advisory services
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients and maintaining trusted adviser relationships
- Identifying areas where clients and businesses can reduce tax, make claims and increase profit
- Assist clients with the management of business/tax obligations and lodgement deadlines
- Providing tax advice to clients on all taxation matters
- Forecasting tax predictions, understanding financial landscape and market trends to identify areas to reduce clients tax exposure
- Preparing and advising on business management reports to gain insight into financial performance of clients
- Mentoring, coaching, and reviewing the work of junior and intermediate accountants
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement and additional advisory services

Skills and Experience
To be suitable for this role you will have/be:
- CA/CPA accreditation or working towards qualification
- Min 6-8 years’ experience in a similar accounting practice (in Australia)
- Strong knowledge of Australian tax legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience working with SMEs and privately owned groups
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Strong commercial acumen
- Efficient time management skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Experience with Xero, MYOB, and other cloud accounting platforms (preferred)
- Committed to continuing professional development
