Overview

We are looking for passionate technologists to join our Pre‑Sales organization to ensure that our growth is grounded and guided by strong technical alignment with our platform and the needs of our customers.

Responsibilities

- Guide customers and partners to design and build reliable, scalable systems using our data platform.
- Work closely with field partner leaders to win deals and drive the business forward.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to a wide range of users from startups to the world’s largest enterprise IT organizations.
- Collaborate with advisory consulting partners on reference architectures, patterns, and AI blueprints.
- Articulate the business value of MongoDB solutions and bridge this to technical value.
- Partner with account teams to ensure success across accounts.
- Support sales with technical discovery, demos, proofs of value, presentations, sizing, and documentation of technical decision criteria.
- Translate technical concepts into business perks for management and executives.
- Act as a liaison, gathering feedback from the field and relaying it to Product Management.
- Help drive demand through participation in trade‑shows and account‑based marketing events.
- Demonstrate resilience and sound judgment in business challenges.
- Support and mentor other pre‑sales team members.
- Maintain situational awareness in group settings.

Particularly with Partners

- Build and maintain effective relationships with technical partners.
- Influence partner decisions and reinforce MongoDB’s value to clients.
- Drive partner Center of Excellence strategies and create demand for MongoDB solutions.
- Understand partner business models, value, and needs.
- Anticipate and respond to partner objections.
- Serve as a “Trusted Advisor” with technical partner stakeholders.
- Create joint proposals with partners for clients.
- Strategize and implement solution architecture for products and services within the partner ecosystem.




- Provide mentorship on general IT and application operations.
- Map industry trends and competitive threats to partner organizations.

What You Will Learn

- The rapidly expanding MongoDB product suite including Core database server, Atlas, Atlas Data Lake, Atlas Full‑Text Search, Realm, Charts, and other tools.
- Market‑relevant technologies such as Apache Kafka, Kubernetes.
- Modern architecture design patterns, methodologies, and concerns (microservices, event‑driven architecture, DevOps, cloud, security).
- Sales techniques and related soft skills (presentations, demos, whiteboarding, discovery, objection handling).
- Exposure to a wide variety of market verticals and use cases.

Qualifications

- 5 to 8 years of related industry experience, ideally 2 years partner‑facing.
- Minimum of 2 years with modern scripting languages (Python, Node.js, SQL) or popular programming languages (C/C++, Java, C#).
- Experience implementing scalable and highly available distributed systems in the cloud and on‑prem.
- Demonstrated ability to review complex customer architecture and provide improvement guidance.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate with a cross‑functional sales team to execute an end‑to‑end deal cycle.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Experience

- Experience with major cloud providers.
- Experience in a technical pre‑sales capacity.
- Experience with database programming and data models.
- Experience in data engineering or AI/ML projects.
- Understanding of popular sales methodologies/frameworks such as MEDDPICC or Command of the Message.
- Mongodb Certification.
- Cloud Provider Certification.
