Our client is a growing, global organisation with 100 staff - operating in the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions
They are an end-end architectural firm that provides service planning - developing high quality clinical services responsive to patient and population health needs - and are also across every aspect of the design of large and small public hospitals and health clinics (planning to execution)
Role Description
This is a great opportunity for a commercially minded financial accountant to play an integral role in their finance function and support multiple international business operations.
The successful candidate will be a pragmatic, hands‑on leader who enjoys working in a dynamic, fast paced environment with stakeholders across different countries and time zones
Skills and Responsibilities
Reporting to senior leadership, you will take ownership of the day to day finance operations while ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions. This is a broad role suited to someone who enjoys balancing strategic financial oversight with hands on financial management
- Manage the end to end finance function across multiple international entities
- Prepare monthly management reports, financial statements and cash flow forecasts
- Coordinate payroll across multiple regions; ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Manage taxation, GST, BAS, PAYG, superannuation and statutory reporting requirements
- Coordinate annual financial statements and liaise with external auditors during year-end audits.
- Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
- Reconcile bank accounts and maintain strong financial controls.
- Monitor budgets, forecasts and business performance
- Work closely with managers and finance contacts across Australia, PNG, Qatar, Dubai, Malaysia, India and Oman.
- Assist with process improvements, system enhancements and finance automation initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies and regulatory requirements
Skills and Experience
You will be an experienced finance qualified who enjoys taking ownership and building strong relationships across the business.
- Professionally recognised accounting qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a Financial Accountant or Finance Manager role
- Experience managing multi-entity or international finance operations an advantage (not essential)
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll, taxation and superannuation legislation
- Experience liaising external auditors and year end financial reporting.
- Excellent understanding of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and general ledger management
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and experience with modern accounting systems - Xero and MYOB
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills
- A practical, pragmatic and solutions focused approach to problem solving
- High attention to detail with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines
