We are seeking a commercially minded and analytical Commercial Planner to play a key role in driving profitability, improving pricing strategies, controlling variable costs and supporting operational decision-making across the business.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position offers a unique opportunity to combine sales analysis, costing, pricing strategy, and business intelligence to influence growth and operational performance.
About the Opportunity
The successful candidate will perform the below duties, including but not limited to:
- Analyse revenue trends, freight volumes, and customer profitability to identify growth opportunities
- Monitor business performance across customers, routes, regions and service offerings
- Develop and maintain user friendly transport costing models to support commercial decision-making
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies across the network
- Support the development and review of pricing strategies to maximise profitability and competitiveness
- Evaluate customer contracts, tenders and pricing proposals to ensure commercial viability
- Prepare accurate and timely reports, dashboards and business performance insights
- Present recommendations and findings to senior management and key stakeholders
- Collaborate with Sales, Operations, IT and Finance teams to improve business outcomes
- Contribute to strategic planning, continuous improvement initiatives, and business growth projects
About You
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Logistics, Economics, or a related field.
- 3-5 years’ experience in sales analysis, costing, commercial analysis, logistics planning or a similar role
- Experience working with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and business reporting tools
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience using Power BI
- Strong understanding of costing methodologies, financial analysis and performance reporting
- Knowledge of transport, freight, logistics or supply chain operations is not essential but would be highly regarded
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
- A proactive approach to identifying opportunities, solving problems and driving continuous improvement
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
