We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join our Revenue Operations team as a Revenue Assurance & Audit Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and strengthen revenue assurance practices across our hospital network while leading compliance, audit and continuous improvement initiatives that support sustainable healthcare delivery.

Your part in our Revenue Operations Team Reporting to the Senior Manager Revenue Operations, the Revenue Assurance & Audit Manager is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity and compliance of hospital revenue practices with health fund and government regulations. This role oversees the review and processing of health fund audits (excluding onsite DRG audits), identifies billing and clinical discrepancies, and implements corrective actions to minimise risk and improve financial outcomes. You will lead assurance initiatives, support staff education on regulatory requirements, and work closely with stakeholders across all four hospitals to promote ethical revenue management practices. Based in our Brisbane CBD Metro Office, this role operates in a hybrid environment and may occasionally require travel to hospital sites for education sessions, stakeholder engagement and audit activities.

Key duties will include:

- Lead and coordinate health fund audit activities across UnitingCare Hospitals.
- Develop and maintain audit schedules, ensuring timely preparation and submission of required documentation.
- Analyse audit findings, identify trends and implement corrective actions and process improvements.
- Review retrospective data to identify opportunities for revenue recovery and reimbursement optimisation.
- Act as the key contact for health funds, auditors and external stakeholders regarding audit activities.
- Establish, review and maintain audit policies, procedures and best practice frameworks.
- Manage and maintain audit tracking and reporting systems.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual audit and revenue assurance reports for leadership.
- Provide expert advice on health fund contracts, reimbursement requirements and compliance obligations.
- Monitor and audit revenue cycle processes including patient registration, billing and collections activities.
- Lead investigations into compliance concerns, audit findings and revenue discrepancies.
- Develop and deliver staff education on audit readiness, compliance requirements and regulatory changes.




- Collaborate with clinical, coding, patient administration and finance teams to improve revenue integrity and reduce revenue leakage.
- Lead a high-performing team while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and exceptional service delivery.

What makes a difference for us?

Essential:

- Tertiary qualification in Business, Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in revenue assurance, auditing, healthcare finance, patient administration or a related healthcare environment.
- Strong understanding of private healthcare funding, health fund contracts and reimbursement models.
- Proven experience leading teams and driving operational outcomes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret complex data and identify financial risks and improvement opportunities.
- Experience reviewing policies, procedures and compliance frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting capability.

Desirable:

- Knowledge of private healthcare funding models and hospital billing practices.
- Experience working within a private hospital or healthcare setting.
