Base pay range

A$110.00/hr - A$150.00/hr

We have a current opportunity for a Multi-Mission Phased Array Radar (MMPAR) Project Support Consultant , on a contract basis within the Defence sector. The role is based in Canberra, ACT. The contract is for an initial 6 month period, with a 2 x 12 month extension option.

DSS Skill Set: Level 3 - Project Management Services & Support

Project Manager responsibilities

- Develop the Concept of Employment and documentation associated with the Protected Mobility Command Vehicle Work Take-On, as well as any other required project documentation for Investment Committee (IC) and National Security Committee.
- Initiate IIS activities for MMPAR to ensure all fundamental inputs to capability are met.
- Provide Project Management guidance, advice, and services.

Minimum mandatory requirements

- AGSVA Security clearance.
- Proven capability in delivering complex Defence projects within the Capability Life Cycle (CLC), including preparation of Product Delivery Schedule (PDS) documentation such as Concept of Employment; IC Business Case; Cost Models and Operational Concept Documents.
- Experience in managing Defence projects through Gate 2 NSC and IC processes, with a strong understanding of documentation requirements and stakeholder engagement strategies.
- Familiarity with Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA)



radar systems and Tactical Data Links, supporting the integration of MMPAR into the Joint Force workplace.
- Understanding of Protected Mobility Vehicle Command variants and their role within LAND 8113 Phase 1 and Phase 2.
- Introduction Into Service (IIS) and Operational Test & Evaluation (OT&E;)
- Demonstrated experience in planning and executing IIS activities, ensuring all Fundamental Inputs to Capability (FIC) are met.
- Strong background in OT&E; planning, conduct, and reporting, particularly for radar and missile systems.
- Ability to effectively engage with a wide range of Defence stakeholders including ADF, APS, and Defence contractors.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities including strategic thinking, achieving results, and cultivating productive working relationships.
- Experience in managing project progression to reduce conflict, meet WHS responsibilities, and apply principles-based decision-making.
