Our client is an established contract manufacturing company entering an exciting period of growth and operational development. As the business expands, they are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations while playing a key role in transforming the way the operation performs.

You will be highly visible throughout the facility, working alongside production, engineering, quality and warehouse teams, understanding what is happening on the floor and helping the team identify and implement better ways of working.

As production volumes and customer requirements continue to grow, the business needs an Operations Manager who can assess current processes, identify opportunities and progressively introduce the structure, systems, disciplines and manufacturing practices required to support the next stage of growth.

You will balance improvement with practicality – understanding what needs to change, engaging the team in that journey and ensuring improvements are implemented and sustained.

The Opportunity

Leading production and contract manufacturing operations to achieve customer delivery requirements.

Improving production planning, labour utilisation and manufacturing efficiency.

Developing and implementing meaningful operational KPIs.

Driving continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing and waste reduction initiatives.

Improving equipment reliability and preventative maintenance practices.

Developing and embedding SOPs and standard work practices.

Managing labour costs, overtime, operating expenses and manufacturing performance.





Coaching and developing leaders and employees to build a high-performing operations team.

About You

You will be an experienced manufacturing leader who is equally comfortable discussing strategy with the executive team and walking onto the production floor to understand a problem firsthand.

Importantly, you will have previous experience supporting a manufacturing or production operation through transformation, growth or significant operational change.

This may have involved introducing new manufacturing systems, improving production structures, implementing KPIs, developing SOPs, lifting equipment performance, embedding Lean practices, increasing production capacity or helping a business move from informal processes towards a more structured manufacturing setting.

You will ideally bring

Strong experience as an Operations, Manufacturing or Production Manager.

Experience leading or contributing to operational / production transformation.

A genuinely hands-on leadership style with a strong presence on the manufacturing floor.

Experience within a job based or multi SKU manufacturing environment.

Experience within contract manufacturing, co-manufacturing or packaging environments.

Strong knowledge of manufacturing KPIs and performance management.

The ability to improve productivity, labour utilisation, waste and manufacturing performance.

Strong people leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.

The ability to lead teams through change while maintaining engagement and operational stability.
