Location: Northern QLD hospital.

Position: Specialist in Psychiatry.

Dates: 29/06/2026 – 18/12/2026.

Rate: $ /day.

Responsibilities

- Provide specialist AOD and psychiatric assessment, treatment, and clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team, supporting individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
- No dedicated or allocated inpatient beds, but offer day admissions at the Day Withdrawal Service (DWS) for alcohol withdrawal management, accepting up to 6 patients.
- Deliver cover to the In‑Hospital Team (IHT) that provides CL‑AOD input for acute mental health inpatients or other patients admitted to the Cairns Hospital ED for medical or surgical reasons.
- Work Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30, with no nights or weekends.
