Maxwell Recruitment & Training is seeking an experienced Winder to join Sulzer's established workshop team in Rydalmere.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Winder to work with a global leader in the repair, maintenance and refurbishment of rotating equipment, supporting customers across mining, energy, manufacturing, water and other heavy industries.
About the Role
Working within Sulzer's workshop, you will be responsible for the winding, repair and refurbishment of electric motors and other rotating electrical equipment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out stator and rotor winding work on electric motors and generators
- Stripping and dismantling motors and rotating equipment
- Removing and replacing old windings
- Measuring, cutting and installing coils and winding materials
- Insulating, lacing, connecting and securing windings
- Soldering and brazing connections where required
- Completing electrical testing and quality inspections
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and winding specifications
- Assisting with the overhaul and refurbishment of rotating equipment
- Working closely with Fitters, Electricians and other workshop trades
- Maintaining a high standard of quality, safety and housekeeping
About You
To be successful, you will have:
- Previous experience as a Winder, Electrical Winder or Motor Winder
- Experience working on electric motors, generators or other rotating electrical equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Mechanical aptitude and an understanding of rotating equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
A relevant electrical trade qualification or experience within a motor rewinding/rotating equipment environment will be highly regarded.
