About the Role

Join a dedicated team delivering mental health assessment and brief intervention to children, young people, and their families through home visits and assertive outreach. Working within a bio-psycho-social-cultural framework, you will provide culturally safe, trauma-informed care navigation and support to enhance mental health, social, and emotional wellbeing.

You’ll be well supported in your role by the Aboriginal Mental Health Workforce, along with access to the Children and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) education framework, Ministry of Health training and networks, and other relevant professional development opportunities. Safeguards is committed to your ongoing growth through personalised learning plans, a comprehensive orientation program, and regular individual and group supervision to strengthen culturally responsive practice.

About You

You are passionate about improving the lives of children, young people, and their families. You have experience delivering trauma-informed, holistic, and culturally safe care, and you value working in partnership with children, families, communities, and colleagues. Your collaborative approach and commitment to respectful, person-centred practice will help ensure positive outcomes for the people you support.

Requirements

- Appropriate tertiary qualifications, professional registration/membership as applicable.
- Must hold a qualification in one of the following: Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Counsellor (Degree in Bachelor of Health Science Mental Health, Djirruwang Program), Occupational Therapy which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association / provisional or general registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
- For Nursing, current unrestricted registration with AHPRA & meet the requirement for Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2, hold required post graduate qualifications in the specialty field and meet the experience requirements for appointment under the NSW Public Health System Nurses' & Midwives' State Award.
