Queensland Corrective Services is looking for a senior mental health clinician to join the QCS Mental Health Services team in Far North Queensland at Lotus Glen Correctional Centre.
As a Senior Mental Health Clinician, you will provide inclusive mental health and well‑being services that are culturally safe and deliver impactful rehabilitative care to a diverse prison population. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan and intervene to promote mental health and well‑being for adults in the Centre.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver high‑level clinical services within a multidisciplinary team.
- Conduct assessment and interventions that promote mental health and well‑being.
- Operate independently to manage complex situations and presentations.
- Work closely with Mental Health Team Leaders to support clinical tasks, case conferencing and supervisory requirements.
- Provide clinical practice supervision to less experienced clinicians.
- Contribute to team capability development through supervision and feedback.
- Use analytical and problem‑solving skills to respond to changing priorities.

About you:
- Demonstrable expertise providing clinical services of a complex nature.
- Can provide clinical practice supervision to less experienced clinicians.
- Possesses high‑calibre interpersonal and communication skills to build effective working relationships and negotiate outcomes with a variety of stakeholders.
- Well‑developed written communication skills and ability to produce excellent quality professional reports and case notes.
- Ability to interpret and apply legislation, policies and procedures in both clinical and team support contexts.
Mandatory requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology and membership with APHRA.
- or Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy or Social Work, with eligibility for membership or registration with AHPRA and/or AASW.
- C Class Driver's Licence.
- Post‑graduate qualifications in mental health would be highly regarded.
