Position Summary
- Location: Footscray
- Employment Type: Full-Time, Ongoing
- Salary: Social Worker Grade 3 or Community Development Worker Class 3 + Superannuation + Salary Packaging
About the role
Team Leader of AOD Specialist Services. Lead and innovate in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) treatment. Oversee clinical and operational aspects of assessment, counselling, non‑residential withdrawal and care & recovery coordination. Work with the team to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based client care across the Northwestern Metropolitan and Grampians regions, streamline pathways, and maximise quality and timely treatment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day‑to‑day operational and clinical oversight and leadership of clinical staff
- Ensure high quality evidence‑based client care within a harm minimisation framework
- Supervise staff, drive performance, motivate the team and meet KPIs
- Manage rosters, timesheet approvals and workload distribution
- Represent the service at sector network meetings and build relationships with external agencies
- Assist the Manager with recruitment, induction and training; lead onboarding for new AOD team staff
- Facilitate clinical meetings, reviews, supervision, mentoring and professional development
About you
- Leadership experience in health or community services
- Knowledge of AOD funding, KPIs and case management
- Understanding of the biopsychosocial effects of substance use and poor mental health on individuals, families and communities
- Demonstrated behaviours consistent with Western Health values
- Experience managing and documenting clinical risks
- Ability to organise workload, set priorities and meet performance targets and deadlines
