Join a leading nuclear medicine team as a Senior Nuclear Medicine Scientist, delivering advanced multi-modality imaging services, providing clinical leadership and mentoring staff to support exceptional patient care across adult and paediatric healthcare settings.

About the role

The Senior Nuclear Medicine Scientist provides high-level independent clinical leadership and specialist nuclear medicine services across multiple modalities, including SPECT/CT, PET/CT, Diagnostic CT, Bone Mineral Densitometry and Radiopharmacy. The role operates within a complex clinical environment and supports the delivery of advanced diagnostic and treatment services across both the Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital and the Queensland Children's Hospital.

The successful candidate will apply advanced clinical expertise to complex cases, contribute to the development and improvement of clinical protocols and practices, and support quality, safety and research initiatives within the department. The role also includes mentoring less experienced Nuclear Medicine Scientists and students, participating in on‑call and rostered services, and contributing to multidisciplinary patient‑centred care.

About you

- Deliver advanced clinical Nuclear Medicine Scientist services across multiple modalities, including SPECT/CT, PET/CT, Diagnostic CT, Bone Mineral Densitometry and Radiopharmacy.
- Apply independent professional judgement and advanced clinical decision‑making to manage complex and varied nuclear medicine caseloads.




- Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of imaging protocols, clinical procedures and quality improvement initiatives.
- Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and professional support to less experienced Nuclear Medicine Scientists and students.
- Lead and contribute to clinical governance, education, training, auditing and research activities that support service excellence and patient outcomes.
