Technical Business Analyst – Data & Delivery | Melbourne-Based | Hybrid
We’re looking for a Technical Business Analyst with proven experience in data-driven environments, robust delivery exposure, and the ability to operate across business and technical teams. This role will support a complex data migration project involving AWS, Databricks, and SQL-based pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead requirements gathering and documentation for data migration initiatives
- Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications for data engineers and architects
- Engage with cross-functional teams to drive alignment between business stakeholders and technical delivery
- Track and coordinate deliverables across data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and reporting layers
- Support testing, validation, and data quality processes
- Monitor project progress and contribute to agile ceremonies (stand-ups, planning, retros)
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years as a Business Analyst or Technical BA in data-focused environments
- Strong understanding of cloud data platforms – especially AWS and Databricks
- Experience working on data migration projects, including legacy-to-cloud transitions
- Proficient in querying and analysing data using SQL
- Confident in writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and mapping data flows
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Bonus Points
- Experience with ETL/ELT workflows and cloud-native data tools
- Understanding of data governance, quality, and lineage concepts
- Prior involvement in large-scale transformation or platform migration programs
