The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to join our Building Services team. In this role, you will lead and deliver electrical engineering studies, designs, and specifications across a diverse range of infrastructure and building projects. You will work with minimal supervision, provide high-level technical consultancy, guide junior engineers, and manage projects and proposals as a true “seller/doer.”

This position involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams and requires robust design expertise across electrical services for new construction, upgrades, and modifications including LV/HV power distribution, lighting, security systems,



ICT infrastructure, and renewable energy integration.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, contribute to, and perform electrical engineering studies and detailed designs for buildings and infrastructure projects.
- Deliver electrical services designs including internal/external lighting, LV distribution and reticulation, passive ICT infrastructure, security systems, backup power systems, and solar PV integration.
- Prepare, verify, and self-check electrical design calculations using both manual and software assisted methods.
- Guide designers and drafters in the preparation of drawings; review and approve documentation.
- Prepare and review reports, technical specifications, and project documentation.

Project & Stakeholder Management

- Lead project teams to deliver major electrical work packages on large multidisciplinary projects.
- Manage small to medium multidisciplinary building services projects end-to-end.
- Liaise confidently with clients, statutory authorities, and external consultants to negotiate critical technical issues.
- Support proposal preparation, project budgeting, and delivery to quality, cost, and time requirements.
- Build and maintain a network of client contacts; participate in business development and marketing activities.
- Provide technical assistance, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
- Work collaboratively with mechanical, structural, hydraulic, civil, and other building services teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Qualifications & Skills

Required

- Established experience as an electrical engineer within the built environment or infrastructure sectors.
- Demonstrated practical and theoretical expertise in electrical engineering.
