Butlers Yarwun Quarries is seeking a Quarry Trades Assistant to join our operations team at our Yarwun, Queensland site. This position is based in office in Yarwun QLD 4694. As a Quarry T/A you will provide essential support to our skilled team, working in a fast-paced quarry environment. This role is fundamental to maintaining our operational efficiency and ensuring our quarry runs smoothly day-to-day. You will be instrumental in supporting equipment maintenance, repairs, and various operational tasks that keep our mining and quarrying operations functioning at their best.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with equipment maintenance, repairs, and servicing across the quarry site
- Perform routine maintenance tasks including cleaning, lubrication, and component replacement
- Assist in the installation and removal of equipment and machinery
- Help maintain a safe and tidy work environment across all work areas
- Support health and safety compliance on-site by adhering to all quarry safety procedures and regulations
- Assist with inventory management of tools, parts, and materials
- Operate basic equipment and machinery under supervision as directed
- Communicate effectively with the team and report any issues or concerns promptly
- Contribute to team efforts to meet production schedules and operational targets
What we’re looking for

- Physical fitness and the ability to work in a quarry environment, including outdoor conditions and at heights where appropriate
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to health and safety standards
- Valuable communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow instructions
- Basic mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
- Reliability and punctuality with a qualified approach to work
- Willingness to undertake relevant training and gain qualifications as required
- A current driver’s license is desirable
- Experience in quarrying, mining, or a related trades environment would be advantageous but not essential
